CONCUSSIONS
This is a paper version of the SCAT5 which is used by the majority of professional sports organization.
Proper Return to Play after a head injury is one of the most important things a player can do to decrease their recovery time and increase the longevity of their career.
The Return to Play protocol is required following the diagnosis of a concussion. There are 6 recommended steps with each step taking place in a 24 hour period. After completing a step, wait 24 hours before moving to the next step. If symptoms worsen or “spike” (become difficult to tolerate), the athlete should wait 24 hours and restart the previous step. This process should be guided by a qualified medical professional.
